We carry (2) forms of Restylane® products specially designed for different purposes and effects, eliminating tiny lines to enhancing facial contours and sculpting lips to perfection. Restylane® – for wrinkle correction and lip enhancements.
Perlane® – for shaping facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, correcting deep folds, and volume augmentation of the lips. While Perlane® nearly identical structure mimics Restylane® being composed of natural hyaluronic acids, Perlane is made with larger gel particles capable of being injected deeper and more intensively than Restylane®.
Restylane® products insert with an ultra fine needle into and around the lines of your face, where it then “fills in” the folds of the mouth, lip and brow area. Because both injectables derive from non-animal and fully biocompatible sources, there is virtually no risk of animal-based disease transmission or eliciting allergic reaction in patients who are sensitive to common foods, such as beef, chicken and eggs. Then we apply a numbing agent or nerve block to the treatment area prior to the injection for your comfort. Due to the nature of the treatment, the most commonly reported side effects are temporary redness, swelling or bruising at the injection site. We do ask our patients to avoid alcohol for 48 hours and not to take aspirin for five days prior to the procedure.
How long a treatment holds its effect is very individual. This depends on many factors, such as your age, skin type, life style and muscle activity as well as on the injection technique. The gel particles in Restylane® absorb so slowly that you have ample time for maintenance treatments. As the gel breaks down, water takes its place. The less concentrated the gel becomes, the more water it is able to bind. These facts are the main reasons that treatments with Restylane® products last so long. When totally absorbed the gel disappears unnoticed from the body.
Most patients follow-up treatment six to twelve months after an initial treatment of wrinkles or facial contouring. And after lip treatments, follow-ups occur after about six months. You always have the choice to continue or change the combination of treatments. In addition, repeat the procedure as often as you like. You are always in charge of your looks.
